Swimming Gala 2006
Despite competition from England in the World Cup, a District Scout Competition, the weather, a carnival and a change of date, the numbers that attended and took part have to be congratulated.
The Cub races went as swiftly and smoothly as they usually do together with much vocal support from the teams on the side waiting for their turn. The Scout races, being over the length of the pool unlike the Cub races over the width, took more time which the scorers were grateful for.
There were two new trophies this year for the Relay events. They are, The Mike Smith Cub Relay Trophy and the Eric Balch Scout Relay Trophy.
As usual the event went off well and everyone, including the starters, judges and other necessary adults for the event to operate enjoyed themselves.
