APPOINTMENT OF DISTRICT COMMISSIONER, EASTLEIGH

The following is the text of a letter sent out by Dick Whittington, Hampshire County Commissioner. Please feel free to pass this information to your Scouting friends and colleagues.

“Following the recent search process for nominations for the role of District Commissioner to succeed Margaret Patrick, I am pleased to announce that I have appointed David McGregor to take on the position.

David has demonstrated a passion and enthusiasm for Scouting that has turned the 12th Eastleigh around as a Group. He can also provide the managerial qualities that are so important for the role.

David has accepted the role and will handover as GSL of the 12th as soon as a suitable candidate can be identified. He will however, assume the role of District Commissioner with effect from 1st January 2008. I have asked David to review his District team and make appointments as necessary.

My thanks to all for supporting the search process and making nominations. I ask you all to give David your full support in the role of DC as he takes Eastleigh District forward.

My thanks also go to Margaret Patrick for a job well done over many years. I am sure she will remain a strong supporter of the District.

Yours in Scouting

Dick Whittington
County Commissioner”

Further announcements will be made in the coming weeks as David settles into his new role and takes Eastleigh forward into a New Century of Scouting.
