Opportunity for First Aid Training


The St John Ambulance now run a course designed for youth leaders called ‘First Aid in the Community’ which tackles the type of First Aid knowledge needed with in the meeting hall and out on simple camping/hiking activities etc.

The course usually is run on a Saturday or Sunday and is held in their HQ in Desborough Road, Eastleigh, by the St John Ambulance Unit trainer Robert Ryder. The course lasts for approx six hours, and a special First Aid book and Certificate (no test) is awarded at the end. The cost is a donation to the unit funds of £10 per person. Each course is limited to 10 – 12 persons. Courses start at lOam. Bring own packed lunch. Non uniform.

The following courses have been set up for Members of Eastleigh Scout District only, and will be held on the following dates. Should we not fill all places on these courses with in a week of the course, other youth organisations in the Eastleigh and Chandlers Ford area will be informed of vacant places. Should we fill all the following places another date will be fixed, until we run out of interested persons.

  • Sunday 30th March
  • Sunday 20th April

Leaders are advised that Robert has had CRB clearance as arranged by Eastleigh Scout District, and is able and willing to do First Aid instruction with the young people with in the District. Should you wish to enquire about this contact Tracy in first instance.
