Deborah Criddle – Paralympian – Multi-gold medallist, Equestrian
Debbie is a hugely successful paralympian winning individual, freestyle and team gold at the 2002 European Championships, the 2003 World Championships and the 2004 Athens Paralympics, all riding Figaro IX. They are the only combination to have won a gold treble at all these championships consecutively. At the 2007 World Para Championships, they won individual bronze and freestyle silver.
Chris Mears - Olympic Hopeful, Diving
Chris is well on the road to London 2012 but was so close to death two years ago he was given just a five per cent chance of survival. He had his spleen removed and was finally released from hospital, however, a relapse two days later saw him rushed back in after seizures and put on life support, over a month after his ordeal began. An amazing work ethic saw Mears’ return from death’s door cemented by winning a place at the last Commonwealth Games, just missing out on a medal with new partner Nick Robinson-Baker coming fourth in the 3metre synchro. Can he do any better at London 2012?
