After the success of their sell-out performance at The Point, the 14th Eastleigh Scout & Guide Band, The Spitfires were able to donate £1000 to this year’s Poppy Appeal.
The cheque was presented to the Eastleigh Branch of the Royal British Legion at their AGM on 1st December. Because of the size of the donation, it was kept quiet with the only the Band Master, Ian Cole, knowing the final amount. The surprise at the size of the donation was quite audible amongst the Legion members present.
The money will be put to good use in providing support to former servicemen and women who have been involved in conflict since the First World War.
