It’s the last part of our Scout promise, but how often do we ………..help others.
As part of the District Centenary year, Scouts throughout Eastleigh District are being asked to go MAD and help others in our community. Make A Difference in 2009 is a challenge which is recognising in a very small way, an offer of our thanks to the Scouts that have made the effort within their community. The tasks are chosen by the Scouts, and can be completed as an individual or as part of their Patrol or Troop.
Troop Leaders will shortly be receiving record cards where each Scout can record the tasks they have completed. When a Scout has completed an activity, they must get their Leader to sign the card. The Scout will then send the card in a stamped envelope of by hand to the given address. The Scouts community action will be recorded. In return the Scout/s will be awarded a special MAD badge to wear on their uniform. Should a Scout record five separate acts of service to members of the community, the Scout will be awarded a gold MAD badge and certificate.
