**IMPORTANT ** St. Georges Day Parade – Final Information


IMPORTANT INFORMATION  – PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ

It has been necessary to change some of the arrangements for our parade this year. In particular the arrangements for road safety.

Attached to this article are two documents that you should familiarise yourself with. (1) Outlines the changes and (2) Shows the revised parade route, and the locations each group has been asked to coordinate.

Can you please make sure that everyone involved with your group if fully aware of the changes.

Group Scout Leaders should already have this information, and should have made appropriate plans to ensure that the allocated road junction is covered safely.

The timings and parade order are as follows:

  • ASSEMBLY:
    • Leigh Road Recreation Ground from 6.00pm.
  • PARADE MARSHAL
    • Ian Cole
  • PARADE ORDER:
    • Network, Explorers, Band, 14th, 8th, 7th, 4th,  1st, 13th, 12th
  • PARADE ROUTE:
  • COLOURS:
    • Group Colours may be paraded if desired.
    • Only one Union Flag will be parade by a Scout from the 14th Eastleigh.
    • The Explorer Scouts will carry the District Flag.
    • The Scout Network will parade the St. George’s Colour.
  • COLLECTION:
    • a collection to support the District Charity should be taken before the Parade and handed in on your arrival at the Church.
  • RETURN:
    • Leaders will be responsible for escorting their sections from the church to reassemble in parade order in Desborough Road for the return parade.
  • SALUTE:
    • The Mayor, The DC and other guests will review the parade outside the Church on the way to the service.
  • SAFETY:
    • Leaders should ensure that their section is adequately supervised at all times.
    • It is essential that safety while on the road be of the utmost importance.
    • Marshals will be on road junctions as per revised-parade-arrangements
  • SEATING:
    • Beavers and Cubs will be upstairs & Scouts downstairs
