Eastleigh Scouts recognise outstanding achievement

Nearly 50 young people from across the Eastleigh area have been presented with top Scouting awards at a ceremony held at the Wells Place Centre on Saturday evening.

These members of the Scout Association, have achieved the Chief Scouts Award, the highest training award in their sections, and to reward their efforts, Eastleigh District decided to make it a special evening inviting the recipients and their families to experience the night.

Group Scout Leader and Asst GSL at 1st & 4th Eastleigh Scout Groups

As we all know, the role of being a GSL is much more difficult than most people see, but it is a position I value greatly to ensure that Scout Groups flourish and therefore allowing Scouting in Eastleigh District to grow in a positive way whilst supporting both the leader team and also the Exec committee.
I am pleased to announce, with immediate effect, that Dick Whittington has agreed to become GSL at the 1st Eastleigh whilst also remaining at the 4th. He will be helped by Steve Harrison taking on the new role of Asst GSL, similarly at both Groups.

Longleat Trip 2010

A quick reminder that numbers for this trip need to be with ADC (Cubs) as soon as possible. All money needs to have been handed in by 8th March at the latest.

Also, do not forget the ratio of leaders/young people that is required for your section – if in doubt, contact ADC (cubs) or ADC (beavers)

7:00 pmto10:00 pm

A very successful sesion was held last Tuesday evening at The Concorde Club in Eastleigh. It was led by our District Chairman and District Commissioner and looked at ways in which we can develop Scouting in Eastleigh in future years.

Thank you to everyone who took part.

Our Chairman is now collating the information from the evening and will distribute amongst the groups in the next few weeks.
